Making Progress

Exciting news! The floors arrived! They are sitting in our living room until Wednesday night when the installation begins. The wood needs to acclimate to the humidity of the house, or something like that. He told me that their goal is to finish by Friday evening. Just in time for moving day! At about the same time we heard from the floor people yesterday, we got a call from the painter that he is going to get started on the exterior this week, much sooner than “sometime in October” as he originally told us. Can’t wait for all the painting to be complete!

So all of this progress means that we need to get it in gear. Last night we started taking out floor staples and quarter board. What a tedious task! Tonight we get to finish that up, move the kitchen appliances, tear up the kitchen linoleum, and do some yard work, weather permitting. Since it’s our last night to be in the house before floor installation, we have no choice but to get everything done. Luckily everyone is pitching in. My mom doesn’t have swim team tonight, so she’ll be over along with my dad, Kathy and Tootsie, and, of course, Luke. It’s going to be a long night!
